Sorry, but if the Giraffe says it was 5m away, then that's what it was. I'm quite surprised anyone would question his judgement to be honest :D

Post Re: Longbow Champion
Well a year has gone by and yesterday it was time for the annual awards dinner at my archery club.

Our club championships took place in the middle of September and I managed to retain my title as Gentlemans Longbow Champion despite it being the most contested award this year. It was the same format as last year shooting a western round (4 dozen arrows at 60yds and 4 dozen arrows at 50yds) but this year I managed a score of 448 (68 points up on my winning score last year!)

Maybe next time we're over at Clitheroe we can set up a target for a quick demo.

How's your little archer doing?

Other than nipping my head about when we next camping she's doing great :)
Not had much chance to play with her bow as yet but I'm sure she will bring it next time!

Confession Time

Well it's that time of year again boys and girls. We had our annual prize giving ceremony today which saw the Longbow champion trophy going to someone else

Though mainly because I didn't enter

I decided it was too easy to just enter and win again so convinced another archer to compete in an otherwise empty category shooting the little black Horsebow I normally fetch to meets (which is about the only time mine gets used and he has a similar bow that he sometimes messes about with).

You'll be happy to know that I still managed to pull off a win  though I'm not really sure how and so this year I am the "Gentlemens Traditional Barebow Champion" instead. ;)

I was also awarded trophies for the most Blues hit (sometimes known as the "Mr Average" trophy as blue (5) is the middle score zone in terms of points) and strangely I also got the most Blacks hit (known as "The Troglodyte" trophy).
