Post Favourite wild swimming spots?
Ok folks, I'll kick off with a post in this sub forum...

What are your favourite wild swimming spots?
Where are they?
Why are they so great?

Am and I are rather fond of the River Cuckmere down by Seaford on the south coast, especially where it heads out to sea at Cuckmere Haven. OK, on a hot sunny day it does get a bit overrun with families and kids, but when you've just walked up and over the South Downs on a roasting day, going for a paddle (or better still a swim) is just bliss!

Sounds lovely that Dave, going to look it up on Google Maps.

Mine is Janets Foss in the Yorkshire Dales, did it on Boxing Day this year, as is tradition, lasted all of 40 seconds in the icy water, but my mate Adrian was in for about 10 mins.

Back of Mouse Island is nice too on Lake Windermere, but it can get a bit busy in high season.
