Big knives aren't compulsory but they can be fun.

Something I fancy a shot at but other than argyll street I've never heard of any cutting competition in Scotland!
I don't mind a trip for a gathering though!

once you've done your certification you're good to go .
That and minimal membership fees cover your insurance.
Get the referee qualification and we can have a Scottish Bladesports

Cutting competitions are awesomely good fun. :)

Even if you decide not to compete, just doing the certification course is absolutely worth it - if only as a good lesson in using a big blade (or any knife) safely and most efficiently.

Just a thought.
If anyone wants a session at Bardster's in May we can arrange both a competition and training/ certification session (as long as Ian can be persuaded - rum is so persuasive)

There will be plenty of big knives to borrow if you don't have one

Should be fun and I'm gonna try and get down ;)
Ian should hopefully be at Graham's this week but alas no cutting comp type shenanigans!
